Attorney Sooim Hong, a recognized expert in redevelopment and reconstruction and a certified specialist by the Korean Bar Association, delivered a practice-focused lecture as part of the Urban Redevelopment Specialist Program hosted by Konkuk University’s Institute for Future Knowledge Education.

Attorney Hong has been a lecturer since the 6th cohort, and in this 7th iteration, she delivered a three-hour lecture on “Key Civil and Criminal Cases in Redevelopment Projects,” sharing insights based on real-life advisory and litigation experiences.

In her lecture, she addressed a wide range of legal risks that can arise throughout the redevelopment process, including conflicts between associations and members, disputes over contracts with construction firms, standards for management disposition plans, and violations of the Urban Renewal Act. She emphasized the importance of legal response at each stage—from the formation of promotion committees to the approval of management plans.

“Urban redevelopment is not just a matter of administrative procedures; it is a complex undertaking where diverse interests collide,” Hong noted. “Seeking legal counsel from the early stages is the most effective way to save time and reduce costs,” she advised.
